BESS Research Workflow Preview
A free introduction to an evidence-aware BESS research workflow. This page is a standalone demonstration, not an excerpt of the paid files. The numerical example below is fictional and must not be used as market data.
1. Start with a decision
Example research question: which opportunities in a selected battery-storage market merit further diligence? Set the country or power-market boundary, reference date, technology scope and decision criteria before asking AI to analyse sources.
2. Build an evidence log
Copy these fields into your own spreadsheet. Leave unavailable facts blank and mark them as unverified.

3. Try a bounded research prompt
Using only the source material I provide, extract each project’s identity, geography, power capacity, energy capacity and status. Cite a Source ID and page or section for every material claim. Do not invent missing values or links. Flag duplicates and conflicting dates. Separate facts from calculations and inferences. End with the evidence gaps that prevent a recommendation.
Paste only material you are authorised to share into your chosen AI service. AI output still requires review against the original documents.
Illustrative output: why status matters
Fictional example: a 100 MW / 200 MWh project appears in a developer announcement. Power is 100 MW; stored energy is 200 MWh; implied duration is 2 hours if both capacities use compatible definitions. None of those values proves the project is operating. Record the status as announced until stronger evidence supports a later stage.
Decision memo: retain the project as a research lead; do not count it as operational capacity. Next checks: official award or permit, grid connection, financing and commissioning evidence. This is a demonstration of reasoning, not a real project assessment.
